Some Thoughts On This July the Fourth.....

The promos have started on the movie channels. The Fourth of July promises to be a celebration of war once again. We have come to this in America. We celebrate our independence through glorification of war. What is missing here is that the great strengths of our system, put together by our founding fathers who took so much risk, are the peaceful aspects. We can change government peacefully, settle disputes between parties in the courts, peacefully, our governments from national to local can changes laws peacefully. That is the great strength of our system, not that we are capable of incredible violence, but rather that we have a system that allows us to live in peace.
